Ivanplats is looking for an Artisan Fitter UG.
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12/NQF 4
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- First Aid Certificate is advantageous
- Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s license
- Fault finding skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment.
- Solid welding and mechanical experience.
The Role requirements include, but not be limited to:
- Undertake cleaning, lubrication and preservation of machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop, tool room and yard area.
- Maintenance of mechanical or equipment on stage.
- Maintenance of de-watering system.
- Maintaining of winder and the headgear.
- General cleaning and removal of rust on parts and equipment.
- Ensures the proper use and care of equipment.
- Assist artisan when undertaking inspection, testing and repairs of lifting equipment and plant.
- Deliver and collect materials, spares, tools and machinery used in the fabrication and maintenance of equipment and plant.
